Hello everyone! Thanks for letting me share this with you all. I was diagnosed July of 2004 with invasive ductal carcinoma, stage 3 with tumor of 4.5cm. I had Chemo and radiation after having a double mastectomy and now after MANY (7) reconstruction surgeries, last one Dec.6th. I am and have been through out, in alot of pain. I've been seeing my OC through this whole process, and he ran a PET scan 3 months after my treatments were over. 1st one I believe didn't work right, cause my IV blew and all the contrast went into my arm not throughout my body. I had another one Friday Dec.28 and the results came in yesterday. OC called and said the report came back with cancer in my lungs. My husband and I are so scared as to what will happen next. It will soon be 2yrs of pain and surgeries and now this. I'm having a really hard time just thinking about going through treatment again, but I will do what it takes. I am 38 yrs old with two wonderful children 16&15 yrs. old. If anyone has had their cancer move to their lungs please let me know how it went/or is going. Anyone else that can help me with this please respond or email me at mckay4@ameritech.net.

Dear Lisa,
I'm am sooooo sorry for what You have been going through-I cannot image the pain and misery You have been suffering through my heart goes out to You - and Your family too. Please don't get to far ahead of Yourself get with Your Doctor and come up with a game plan-I would think they would have you on a pain management program with everything You have been through. There is too much technology out there for You to suffer and hurt. You can go to different areas on this board and others to get information on lung cancer but if I'm not mistaken since You had breast cancer first this is possibly a mestasis(sp) still related to the first. If I'm wrong someone will correct me.I read something the other day that if you were at a stage 3,then later the cancer returned it could be a stage 1 BUT would still be considered a stage 3 because of You previous DX.Sounds kinda crazy and confusing. Please get with Your health care team,it'll calm Your nerves and write down any questions You may have for the Doctor. I have a friend who was told she had liver cancer 3 months ago-guess what they did surgery yesterday on her liver, removed 2 tumors, now only to find out it was NOT cancer. She has a low tolerance to pain, they gave her too much pain medicine Yesterday and they almost lost her. .. Pain medicine doesn't affect me that way thank God.
I will keep You in my thoughts and prayers-Let me know how things go.My sister was told also that she has ovarian cancer they think it's at a stage 3,she's taking treatments now to shrink the tumors they want to do surgery this month and then 3 more chemos and a year of Taxol. After what happened to my friend 2nd and 3rd opinions are at the top of my list of recommendations-before major surgery is done to make sure it is an accurate call. God Bless you Honey-Keep me posted.
(((HUGS)))
