back from vacation
I haven't been around during the last week. I had a wonderful vacation over New YEAR's with really good friends. I got back Tuesday night and of course went back on chemo yesterday.
I had a pet scan before I left which showed that the largest tumor in my lung has decreased slightly. The other tumors never showed in a pet scan. I was disappointed. I wanted to hear that everything had disappeared or decreased a lot, but I have decided that this is ok. Things are going in the right direction and there is no sign of cancer anywhere except my right lung. The plan is 2 more months of chemo and then ct/pet scan.
My house is now up for sale and I'm trying to move on with my life. My biggest problem is that my life is in limbo. I don't know where I'm going to end up living. I don't know when or if I'm going back to work or school because I can't really make any long term commitments. Being a complete control freak, this is really difficult for me. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Happy New Year!
Jamie

Hi Jamie..great to hear you enjoyed yourself. On the "in limbo factor"...31 years of married life here has me thinking that all the things that have happened to us are meant to be and a part of our destiny.If you recall early in 05 I was really worried about Jen's job(our sole income) and all you guys n gals came to the forefront with well wishes and prayers. In the end Jen changed jobs thru necssity and really looking at it now her old job being made redundant must have meant there was another road for us to follow. In fact her old business really did her a favour. She has a better job and really enjoys it. The window of opportunity opened and she took it...she went with her gut feeling.Of course not always things work ut that way but over the years I think we both have seen a pattern to the way things happen, good and bad.
Jamie.....you may not have control at the moment but maybe for you things will work out ok too. Try not to stress too much because your health is the single most important thing right now.I got that from good advice........you guys!
It is real tough to try and chill...I should take my own advice too.....whaaaaaa!
cheers, Ross n Jen0 -

Being both a Virgo and a military officer, I can say I have walked the control freak path. I've given it up since I was diagnosed. The reality of the matter is, God (or however you refer to your Supreme Being) is going to move through you as God sees fit. Let go and move with the flow. It will add years to your life and life to your years! I'm not saying become a fundamentalist or be born again, I'm just suggesting that things are going to work out their own way in their own time and we waste so much precuious life and energy when we try to control things that are beyond our scope.
Have FUN and LIVE life!

Billy Connelly(he is another biker too);
"to old to die young"
and,
Our bike club motto;
"growing old disgracefully"
I like both of these 'cos they are humorous but at the same time remind us that sometimes we need to slow down and take stock, smell tha roses, so to speak...take a deep breath and then really think about another great statement, ie;
from our mate Bob; "I'm just suggesting that things are going to work out their own way in their own time and we waste so much precious life and energy when we try to control things that are beyond our scope."
huggs again Jamie, Ross n Jen
ps...Bob...couldn't help but spell "precious" for yah...lol!0
