My husband

My husband, Dale, died on Tuesday morning from pneumonia. He was fighting to recover from the surgery that drained the abscess compressing his spinal cord and was just overwhelmed with infection. He was diagnosed with rectal cancer in January 2002 and discovered the lung metastasis in October 2003. Erbitux was effective in keeping the mets from growing too rapidly and he received treatment from April 2004 to November 2005.
This group has been a life line to me in dealing with his battle with colo-rectal cancer. Sharing such personal and often painful information about your private lives helped me so much to understand what was going on with my husband and how to discuss other treatment options with his oncologist - things I wouldn't have even known to ask about if it hadn't been for this group. Take care!

My thoughts are with you as you grieve his passing.

Dear Vonnie,
I am so sorry to hear of Dale's passing. Thank you for letting us know. Dale was blessed to have you as his advocate. Please know that all of us share in your grief and that you are still a part of us. Come here often and let us know how you are doing.
With sympathy,

Vonnie,
Thank you for taking the time to think of sharing with us during this heavy-hearted time. I think what is most shocking about this particular cancer is that it's not an age or gender specific enemy. Family history or not, anyone can get it. You will always be a semi-colon to us here, and we hope you still come here to be a part of our little family.
With deepest sympathy,

Dear Vonnie. Jen and I are truly saddened to hear of another of our family losing the battle. All of us know that a time will come when we will be with our loved ones again but until that time treasure the memories and know that Dale is now in the loving arms of those that have also left us.livin said:My Condolences to you and your family, May God be with you at your time of need. Remember Vonnie that you too are a part of our family and we will continue to support you.
