NEUROENDOCRINE ISLET CELL NON FUNCTIONING TUMORS

Hi
My husband was diagnosed with neuroendocrine islet non functioning tumors and is being treated with sandostatin lar. He has received one treatment and will receive 2 others and then have a scan to see results. Is there anyone out there with a similar diagnosis? we don't know much about any of this and could use som help.

    My Husband was diagnosed Nov. 04, neuroendocrine tumors (islet cell) Started in pancreas, and had spread to liver. He has had chemo (adriamyocin, I think thats how it is spelled) every 8 weeks since Jan 05. They are treating the liver first and say surgery is a possibility in the future. He is treated at UPMC Presbyterian in Pgh. Sometimes the scans have shown that the tumors are shrinking and sometimes stable, which they say is still good because they are not growing. Information on this type of cancer and treatments seems very hard to find. Check out PAncan's website and Carcinoid Cancer Foundation websites. I hope this helps.
