I would like to hear from someone who has had a Gleason of 9 or higher, has had no surgery, and has had hormones and radiation, and has survived 3-4 years beyond the recurrence of a rising psa to find out what path of treatment they chose. If you are less than 60 years of age and are willing to help it will be greatly appreciated. I have other groups trying to find a match for my condition but I fully expect to hear from someone thru this site. Thank You.

Mark: My situation is fairly close to you...I was diagnosed at the age of 52 with a gleason score of 8...I had radiation, both external beam and seeds...For two years I was on hormone therapy ie Zolodex...For another two years after that I had no treatment and my PSA was less than 0.1...At the end of the past two years my PSA began to rise for three consecutive tests...I decided to try high dose Casodex 150 mg...After a few month's my PSA went back down to 0.6...I will be tested again in December...So far the side effects are minimal...
