    Hi Mary and Rodney,

Thank you very much for your note....sorry to have caused concern though. My internet connection has been sporadic lately, being in th hospital and now at my parents. i'm doin ok..I started an antidepressant and likely some group support for depression.

I started chemo up again today post surgery. So now I'm a double-bagger!!!Lucky me...one bag for my ileostomy and one bag for chemo for 48 hours.. This has by far been the hardest phase of treatment for me. I was hoping that that chemo and radiation that I enjoyed over the summer would have been the worst of my treatment plan, but this ileoostomy is a real bugger. I am fortunate that it is just temporary. But my guts just really aren't happy and I'm eating all sorts of bad sugary food like cake and pastries just to try to get some calories. And then there's maintaining that stoma site and waking up a couple times in the middle of the night to empty the bag. And its disgusting to me. I suppose its no worse thatn having a new born child...I should really keep that in mind. But I'm a wimppp with a capital W...so this is all hard on me. I need to get onto an ostomy support site

I hope you are all very well. I know others are having a much harder time. My tghoughts and prayers are with you.

To others who are thriving .... I'm very happy for you : )

    Maria!
Thank you for writing. It's good to hear from you. Sorry you are going thru so much. Dealing with the ileostomy will get better. I actually miss her at times! It's funny. I gave her a name, but already can't remember what it was and it was just about a year ago that i had her reversed. A site that I found helpful was Shaz ostomy page. Hang in there!

Yeah, Maria, it does sound like you're going through a hard time. I also have long chemo infusions - I'm in the hospital right now getting infused. I don't know what it's like to maintain a stoma site, but I know that sometimes I wonder if it would be worse than chemo burning diarrhea plus anal fissure pain! Anyway, please take good care of yourself and be careful of the bad food. You have my email address so write to me any time. I'm always glad to hear from you.
