I have a question (really is to do with sex!)

I know that when someone is on Chemo/Treatment they are told not to get pregnant and to use precautions. My question is this- I am on the pill and it's my boyfriend who's having treatment so we are covered from a birth control side. However- can his chemo affect me? I've read that mothers are not supposed to breast feed while on chemo so this suggests that the chemo can pass out of the body and effect someone else but I am confused about the effect it could have on me and my body(he's on Xeloda and Erbitux). I would really appreciate any information that you may have. Thanks

    Joan -

have your boyfriend check with his doctor. Best of luck to you and your boyfriend on his treatment.

Our info from Onc clinic was that a condom should be used for 2-3 days after each treatment since the semen could be iritating to the vag lining (burning sensation)
    Hope this helps.
