This Sunday, October 16, 2005 is Making Strides for breast cancer walk. It is in all boroughs. I am in the Bronx, NY I will be walking at Orchard Beach. This is my first time walking since I was just diagnosed in June of this year. I have called up friends and family to walk with me. I have collected donations. This is the first of many walks for me. If you are not already involved, find out where you can go to walk. Please participate in your borough or city. These donations help us in every way. From testing to cures to prevention and early detection. I am happy to be a part of this. It reminds me that we are not alone in our fight.

I also was diagnosed in June and I participated in my first Making Strides Walk in Ft Wayne IN on Saturday, Oct 8.Before the walk, a local hospital gave out pink rain ponchos and we formed a pink ribbon with over 800 people in the picture. It was a very rewarding experience and I plan to do it again next year. Good luck on your walk.0

Hi! That's great that you're doing the Making Strides Walk . I am a 5 year survivor. I have done The Relay for Life for the past 5 years. It's great. I have also Volunteered at another local BC and Ovarian Cancer walk for the past 3 years and this year will be my 2nd time as a volunteer at the Making Strides Walk. I will work in the Registration area. I live in Westchester County, NY and will do the walk at Manhattanville College. They expect over 10,000 participants. It's so exciting. I hope you have an amazing experience! Let us know how it goes. I'll be thinking about you . HUGS!! Cathy0

this Sunday I too will be walking in the Making Strides in Boston, Massachusetts. Last year was my first time and words cannot describe the overwhelming good feeling I had after completing this. My husband was concerned that I wasn't going to be strong enough...but I was!!! So we are doing it again this year. We also participated in the Relay for Life in Abington. That too was a fabulous experience...I am coming up on three years survivor!! So good luck, enjoy, live life to the fullest!!0
