Hi.I just turned 38.Lately I have been having breast pain ,breast tenderness,loss of weight,enlarged veins under the arm on the same side,the breast looks slightly larger than the other,and a red dot has appeared next to the nipple.I went to the doctor but she didn't feel anything,but am having mammogram and physical next week.They already did an ultrasound,I thought I saw a white clump of white stuff on the u/s,I was watching them perform it.They had it in a box and I think printed it out.I'm getting results of that next week also.I'm scared.Has anyone else gone through this too? What are the chances it's cancer? I lost 4 pounds since last thursday and I eat McDonald's food! so why am I losing weight? Also have a bad wisdom tooth on that side getting pulled out ASAP,could the tooth be doing all this?
I have pain in my shoulder,arm,and the side of my neck,too.HELP! OPINIONS please...Has anyone else gone thru this,like the ultrasound? I need answers!

    Dear noreneol, breast pain can be associated with breast cancer, but breast tenderness and a difference in size is pretty common. Has size of your breast or arm veins changed? I don't know anyone who lost weight with breast cancer, myself included. Knock off the Micky D's especially the caffiented drinks which can cause breast tenderness! Try not to worry until you see the reports. It takes an expert to interpret an ultrasound or a mammogram.A bad wisdom tooth can cause pain in your jaw and face; ask your dentist if that could also cause neck and shoulder pain. Tell the doctor all your symptoms and let them decide what to do. Good luck!

    Yes,the right breast is slightly larger than the OK one.And I have this tenderness only in the bad breast.It has been going on for a little over a month now.There is a red dot next to nipple too,the 2nd 1 I saw so far.The 1st came while in the shower and never really went away.I never had this be4..And yes,the veins under my arm are noticably larger.You can see them going right to the nipple.And,like I said, I think I saw calcifications on my u/s.I go for results and workup and mammo next week.Also the pain is not just in face and jaw,it is in neck arm,and shoulder.Opinions? Has anyone else had this? And wouldn't caffeine cause BOTH breasts to hurt?

    Ditto Michael,ibbsy,and Ellen.Don't panic! I've been there and I know it's not easy. BUT if you listen long enough,you will hear that everything causes cancer. I heard the same BS about lefties and it took me about 2 seconds to file it away in the Cancer BS file.I'm 3 years on the other side of Stage 2 dcis with 1 positive lymph node,lumpectomy, radiation, and chemo.Left breast,right-handed. Micky D's has never bothered me and I have a permanent medium lymphoedema condition. Salt, not caffeine, will aggravate my lymphoedema, and breast tenderness. If caffeine was the sole problem, half the US would have exploded years ago!
    Just because they are taking extra spots and ultra sounds, doesn't mean the end of the world. They target anything that is out of the ordinary.It can happen with benign growths. The most important thing is to pin your medical people down and ask questions. Demand answers. The not knowing is worse than the knowing.
