Hi..to my knowledge doctor Holt is in Western Australia and he had a very good system dealing with the cure of cancer. There was quite a bit of media news on him a while back. He was treating patients with a fair degree of success as was claimed but I think he was going to retire and try to pass the procedure on but the govt. and medical hierarchy were not covinced that his treatment worked. I will try to get some more information. What I have said here may not be entirely accurate so don't necessarily take it as true.It is only what I have read and it may not be a Dr. Holt I am referring to.joanneire said:No- do you know the name of the doctor- would be interested in finding out about it too.

There has been a lot of media attention about John Holt over here for the last couple of years. He seems to have had some pretty good success with his treatments, but from what I believe it has not been properly researched (but I could be wrong). Most of the attention has been through a TV show called A Current Affair (ACA) - see article http://www.alternativehealth.com.au/Articles/doctor_holt.htm. However, be aware that the content of ACA is questionable, and their stories are rarely scientifically valid. Sorry I couldn't be more help0

The guy in Dublin is called dr Hugh Tinsley and his phone no. is 2957425 or 2944185. I did ring and I may ring again and make an appointment, but I would like to find out more, if possible. If you googl him, you will see that he is connected somehow with Dublin Institute of Technology. I know only secondhand, about some Swiss lady who comes here specifically for his treatment, and that she has had some success with him, for the same type of cancer with mets. i think now that I will just proceed as I am, but certainly if it happens that another go of 5fu etc is required, I will go to him sooner than do that again. I reckon one bout is poisonous enough! Thanks to Kanga and Cal 79 for replying.

Hi again Finner and Cal. I assume Cal that you are also an ozzie? In my ignorance I must have missed you posting that.It is interesting to note that by coincidence, only tonight on our local current affairs program(today tonight-Adelaide) there was a program to the detriment of Ray Martins reports about Dr. Holt's procedures. Apparently there has been recently some in depth looking into Dr Holts success and the medical organisation/researchers(I cannot remember which group) totally refuted any claims by Dr Holt that he has had enormous success with his treatment of cancer. Strangely enough the media did not(in tonights) show interview anyone treated by Dr Holt.This would have supported their claims if they found some cancer patients who were not helped by Dr Holt.cal79 said:There has been a lot of media attention about John Holt over here for the last couple of years. Basically the report was saying that his methods were shown thru research in past years NOT to work!
Of course, remember..I am just relaying what I saw on the current affairs program. Maybe I can find some more info.
My view of it all is to keep an open mind...why?
Simply that many studies and reasearching have been done for all manner of things. For example;
microwaves/mobile phones...who really knows if they cause cancer?
Meat cooked excessively(char grilled....charcoal content....carcinogens?.mmmm)
Excessive x-rays or ct/pet scans.....do they really have a contibuting factor for cancer growth?
All I am saying is that every single week someone says this or that works/does not work.
Every single week someone says a cure is found/not found.
If I was terminal I am sure I would try to go with whatever my heart tells me.....even if it is a long shot. The only problem today is trying to determine who are the quacks and who are legitimately trying to impliment a cure or prolong life. Difficult questions.....so who has the answers?
Not I.
cheers, kanga n Jen0
