pelvic exenteration

I had a pelvic exenteration in Febuary 1998 after my cervical cancer came back. Before the exenteration surgery I had radiation for 6 weeks. I have been doing well for 7 years, untill this past month or so. I have been experencing some symtoms...one symtom just started about 3 or 4 days aggo...my hip and right leg is hurting. I thought maybe I had a sciatic nerve problem but deep inside I am beginning to feel like my cancer may be coming back and pressing on my sciatic nerve. I especally felt this after reading some information on this web site. I haven't been back to my doctor...he is in another town and I didn't want to panic my kids or anyone...I have had many times in the past 7 years that I thought it was coming back but thank God it was not the cancer...if anyone has had or know anyone who has had their cancer come back after having a pelvic exenteration I would appreceaite it if you would let me know if these symtoms may sound like it is coming back. I am hoping it is just a sciatic nerve problem but with some of my other symtoms I am fearful. Thanks

Hello. I just read your message about recurrent cervical cancer and was wondering how you were doing and what you found out. I had a pelvic exenteration in June 2005 and I too often wonder if my cancer has come back since the surgery due to aches and pains that I am having. I too often wonder if anyone who has had a pelvic exenteration has had their cancer come back. I hope that your problem is nothing serious and that you will get peace of mind.
