I will see my oncologist tomorrow and ask him about that possibility. Not sure what they can do about it if a nerve is involved, but this is getting really painful and I can't imagine having to live with it another year. Thanks so much!Btrcup said:Bonny, could it be that your port is hitting a nerve? Just a thought. Hope you find out what it is and take care of it.

sounds like rotor cuff (sp?) involvement..esp. if you are unable to move it-your Dr should be able to give you something for pain until it's dignosed, even if you have to go to the ER to get it. meanwhile, anything you can do to immobilize it should help-ie; pillows, sling, baloon in armpit, etc.0

more..did you do anything to injure it? If it is R/C, it will probably need a MRI to "see" it..nanuk said:sounds like rotor cuff (sp?) involvement..esp. if you are unable to move it-your Dr should be able to give you something for pain until it's dignosed, even if you have to go to the ER to get it. meanwhile, anything you can do to immobilize it should help-ie; pillows, sling, baloon in armpit, etc.

Is some sort of Alaskan homespun treatment? Sorta like a salmon in the skivvies for my problem?
Cheers!!

Didn't do anything to injure it. Onc did tell me to stop using Tylenol (previously the only thing they'd let me use for pain with my chemo) and start trying Alleve. The Alleve has relieved the constant pain - I still have restriction in movement and pain when I move it abruptly or try to lift something with it, but at least the constant pain is gone and I'm hopeful with gradual stretching and continued anti-inflammatory, we can get some movement back into this joint. Thanks for your suggestions!nanuk said:more..did you do anything to injure it? If it is R/C, it will probably need a MRI to "see" it..
