Pepsi consumption cause of cancer??

I am so sorry for your loss. I can't even begin to imagine how hard it would be to loose a life partner of so many years. It is impossible not to wonder what causes cancer, especially when one's life style does not put you in any of the risk groups. I was 44, average weight, a nonsmoker, only very occasionaly had a glass of wine when I was diagnosed. I fit none of the risk groups and so really wondered what was the cause. Sometimes there are no ready answers. I am convinced that there are enough pollutants in our food and in our environment that is a cause for some of us whose genetic structure make us more susceptible. That doesn't make it any easier, however blaming ourselves or our lifestyle doesn't really help us either. There probably was nothing you could have done differently. I hope you can be gentle with yourself now in your grief. You did the best you could with the information you had. There is a website JoelMagnussen.com that tells of a very young man's journey with stomach cancer and his wife's journey with grief after his passing. She has been journalling for over a year since his death and her story might be an encouragment to you. There is also a group called mourning dawns of caregivers who have lost their loved ones. I am so sorry about your loss and the pain of it all. All I can say is that I am 42 and was diagnosed with Stage III colon cancer 2 months ago. I fall into none of the risk categories. BUT, I too consumed high amounts of Pepsi and other sodas daily for years. I did not eat as nutriciously as I should have. I have been doing a lot of research and have found that SUGAR seems to feed cancer growth, while avoiding sugar seems to **** cancer growth. There are several books on nutrion and cancer.
Does Pepsi cause cancer? Probably not. But like some things ... in excess..in the right place..with other factors....might have been a contributor to the situation.
But then again....I wouldn't worry too much about they why of it all. Only God really knows.

My husband was told he had stomach cancer in Feb. and passed on April 8th. You never saw him without a can of Coke in his hands. He also smoked and ate poorly. I wonder everyday if eating better would have made a difference. I can't believe he is gone. He was only 39.

My mother died of gastric stomach cancer when she was 42 and I was 9 years old. We were wondering what cause of her death but never knew why until I got much older. My family thinks it could be related to what she has been eating the "same food" everyday like hot dogs that can do a lot of harm to your stomach. Now I have uterus cancer so I had hysterectomy but I still have lymph nodes disease so I will need to have chemotherapy and radiation. I have to watch what I eat and eat lots of veggie, fruits and whole foods that doesn't have too many chemicals in it. I hope this helps you...
