Vicki,
Can you remind me where your cancer was and what you've had done so far?
There are many options after surgery. THere are several chemo strategies that are very successful. You may be in for a fight, but it's one you can win.
You are allowed to be scared, but don't give up hope. There is a lot that can be done.

If I've learned anything during my illness, 8 months and working, it's this. Dr's are experts in vague-ries!!! They don't want to stick their necks out because they could very well be wrong, especially with cancer. When I had my resection surgery in May, they told me the same thing, we think we got all of it, but we're not sure...
I literally have to pry information out of onc...Fortunately for me I'm doing really well, I'm on the cusp of remission. If I hadn't responded so well to treatment, I would have fired him by now!!!

My doc said the same thing, and the onc said "do chemo/radiation-I did, and got 3+ years NED..point is, there could be microscopic buggars in there, anddoing nothing is probably a bad decision. Make sure your doctor gives you ALL the options, not just chemo, and make an informed decision. Your doc should be willing to discuss alternatives to
chemo-ie; the so -called bio therapies,etc Bud0 -
