    Hi Ramona,

Oh my gosh, I can't believe it!!! I bet the new office lady will have a little orientation session after her big, big goof!!! You deserve a free dinner for two from the oncology office!

Well, thanks for sharing and congratulations on your pet scan being clear. Maybe we should change the name to NOED!!! HA!

    Hugs,

    Kay

    Ramona -

How great that the news is good - but my gosh what a horror story on the way there! As if things aren't bad enough. Hopefully the person who called you is in "re-education camp" right now!

    Hope you enjoyed the champagne!

Congrats. on NED, I know the feeling doesn't it feel so good. The office lady should be fired, she had no right to tell you anything she's not the doctor.

Great news, Ramona...I'm glad they got it right!
Someone else already said it, but the office staff really have no business sharing medical info, particularly if they think the news is less than optimal!
A friend's 20 year old daughter was in the ER for hours last week, getting worked up for severe abdominal pain. After being there all night, the resident came in to tell them that their daughter has "terminal ileitis". When they picked themselves up off the floor, she apologetically explained that the diagnosis means that the inflammation is in the end or "terminus" of her small intestine, NOT that it is a terminal disease. Another one for the books!
Enjoy NED's company....s/he is making the rounds! I'll raise a glass for you tonight.Judy

I get follow-up scans and labs every six months. A week later the doctor sees me and gives me a check-up feeling around my limp nodes ( goosing me under my armpits and tickling my neck) He listens to my heart and breathing and talks to me about the results of my test with me reading my own copy of same. He does not talk to me on the phone about any of this nor does his nurse or, God forbid, his OFFICE STAFF!
I don't mind waiting a week--well, I do but it comes straight from the onc's mouth in a face-to-face meeting.
Aspaysia, who loves her straight-talking doc.
