Hey all you Rockin' Semi-Colons!

I just wanted to say that I love you all.

Life is so precious and when we lose a compatriot it hits hard. It is always when I am reminded to tell my loved ones how much I love them. It's like when I hear of a child getting hurt and then I tend to hold mine just a little tighter.

So we've lost Judy Grandma047 and I want to hold the rest of you just a little tighter right now.

(((((((SEMI-COLONS)))))))

I thank you all for being here. For whatever purpose I am thankful.

As I have in the past I want to share my verse that became my mantra 4 years ago--so much so that I wrote it in permanent marker on my (very ugly) wall:

"'I will restore you to health and heal your wounds', declares the Lord." Jeremiah 30:17

peace, emily who may just be found jumping up and down with excitement in Las Vegas upon arrival!

    Dearest Em,

What a true sweeheart you are. Thank you so much for your post - and I echo your sentiments.

The site goes through so many twists and turns, contemplative sadness, incredible joy, and much enjoyed (and needed!) humour.

I am so, so glad that I am here to be part of it and to share it with all of you as well.
    Cheers and big hugs,
    Maura

Judy was one of the first semi-colons I met in this forum last June 2004. As much as she was going through, and I beleive she hit every emotion. She would help me through my stuff with my husband always being gentle and caring. You are truly going to be missed Judy, you once asked if you should stop bothering us, but did you know you were an inspiration? You made us feel so not alone in this lousy situation. We will continue on with your spirit always in attendance. Love, Louise

It is with sadness and tears that I type this post. Judy will be extremly missed. But I can see her now looking at us and smiling and pouring her strength to us. She is no doubt with our Lord and thru with the pain and suffering. She was an inspiration to all of us and again, she is missed.
God bless her family with strength and the ability to know that Judy touched many many lives with support, love and increadible strength.
    We love her always.

We love you too, Em. Sometimes I just sit back and picture everyone at their computers. I only know a few faces, but that doesn't matter. It is the heart, spirit, and friendship that shows. The bond of love and need to help others is what joins us. It took cancer to do that. Perhaps that is one of the reasons we were all struck with CRC. To join here and reach out to others.

I often look for the "whys" of this disease. I don't need to look much further than right here. The friendships and bonds that have formed are some of the most spiritual, strongest and most loving I have seen.

So thank you Emily, and thank you fellow semi-colons. Just for being here. To listen, support, cry and laugh.

A world wide hug to all my friends.

Barb ( who will be jumping for joy here...not in Vegas. UGH )

Emily...you always seem to know exactly what we're all thinking, but just don't take time to express it. THANK YOU!

Once again, all you guys (the semi-colons) just impress the heck out of me. Despite everything you guys have gone through, there's always a shoulder to lean on, a bit of humor to share, and a place to come vent without offending or being considered a whiner. And you welcome everyone.

You all probably have no idea how that impacts people like me (a caregiver) who has not seen it from your perspective, and frankly can't fully comprehend the range of emotions that must fill your hours, days and weeks, and the love of life that has grown exponentially inside you. Could cancer be described as a "blessed curse?"

I am inspired by all of you, and respect you for all you do for each other. You all are much greater than community...you're family.

    Thank you Em!!!!!!!!

I think that is why you got our award recently. I know that Judy would have wanted us all to continue on fighting the dragon, while supporting each other and that is what I intend to do. It is my own way to mourn her; to live life to the fullest, "shop till you drop", as she called it. I want to make her proud, which means it makes us all proud. After all, we are the Rockin Semi-Colons!!!!!!!!

Thanks again Em and I totally concur with dancing upon arrival in Vegas and I personally will be there in the lobby of the hotel to dance with you.

Stacey honey, it's time for an update on our reunion in Vegas this October.

I have jsut returned to this board after a break and was saddened to read of Judy's death. Her life over recent months has been plagued by so much suffering and so may set backs that she fought so hard to stand up to she was truly a remarkable fighter. You are right that the loss of one of the group does hit hard- sad to think of their loss but also it reminds us all what a fragile existence we lead ourselves. I too often feel the need to reassert what is precious to me when this happens to and appreciste your messages. This site has been invaluable to me over the last year or so and appreciate what you have all done for me and my family.
Thanks for the hugs at this time when we all need them.

Love in every sense of the word Emily means reaching out and truly holding someone whether that be physically or in ones mind. I phoned you sweetie because I wanted to do just that....reach out. I also phone many others here at CSN as you know...unfortunately I can't do what I would like to do..phone you all...so I do the next best thing. I reach out to you all via this board. In that way I hope I have touched you all. I am so sad we have lost so many, and now Judy...but I remember the happy times too..the days I touched her.
Yes...we love you all....more than words can say,
    Ross and Jen

    Hi Em,

You are so right - we are all connected spiritually, emotionally and some of us personally. After Las Vegas, more of us "personally".

This is such a special, loving group of folks, both survivors and caregivers....

My husband and I talked tonight about Las Vegas, and we will try to get a larger room (suite) and have a "hosted" cocktail (juicing) party to open the "semi-colon" events.

Let's remind everyone about our reunion, since we are sending so much LOVE around...........

October 25 - 28 at the Aladin Casino in Las Vegas. All are invited.....Please try to come if you can.

    Kerry
