i was admitted to the hospital at NIH where I am in a clinical trial for TNFerade (injected into the tumor five times) at 4 am last night for severe abdominal cramping and nausea/vomiting. the only change i have had in my diet is drinking juiced carrots/parsley/celery mixed with organic apple juice. my mom made a bunch and put it in a pitcher in fridge. is fresh carrot juice only good right when you make it? should i not be storing in fridge?
i am awaiting my doc to come discharge me. after being hooked up to IV fluids, morphine and zolfran, i was good to go. but waiting to go home now to be with my little baby

    Hi claudia,

From my perspective--why I juice in the first place--the live enzymes start to die off 20 minutes after juicing. So it's imperative to drink it right away.

that is why juicing is an investment--time and money....because you do it all day long.

Sorry about your sickness. I would wonder if it was the injection making you sick?

    peace, emily

I thought about that right after i posted this! Yes, it was pasteurized. But you are right about taking it slowly. I probably started too fervently and drank too much of it. I am going to start slowly this week with small amounts and only made right then. My mom is here for another week and does not mind juicing for me and cleaning up.I have had 5 weeks of chemo-radiation and will have surgery late August with 6 more months of chemo. nothing else has make me cramp up or have nausea but I have been instructed to take my oxycodone at the signs of any cramping. been okay since thursday. i do have a strong gastrocolic reflex at times though. If I drink a smoothie with fruit bits or eat a fruit, I may have to rush to the bathroom. but without the cramping.
