Sorry to be the bearer of such bad news
It showed multiple new modular densities in lung bases bilaterally. Also new bilateral pleural effusions. New hypoattenuating but slightly heterogeneous focus seen in the right lobe of the liver with a maximum dimesnsion of 1.4cm.There is alsoseen in the retroperitoneum changes. Colon is mildly distended with fluid. Pelvis also shows changes at the sacrum and coccyx. These are large fluid collections. I don't know exactly what all this means other than when he explained that it is in my lungs, liver and pelvic area and that I'm stage 4 and chemo will be changed and if I don't do it, i have 4-6 months and if I do, I have 12-21 monhts. THIS TOTALLY SUCKS!!! Sorry, I can't really write anything else right now. Just know I love you all and you've been the best and I will try to hang on as long as I can.
Love ya, Judy(grandma047)

hi friend,
I am so sorry about your news. I cannot imagine sitting in the doctor's office and hearing this......I think back to almost 4 years ago when my onc said I had a 30% chance of living if I did NOT do chemo. I surely didn't like hearing those stats so I ignored them.
Judy, I hope you will be open to reading a really good inspiring book-- A Cancer Battle Plan by Anne Frahm. She was given a bad prognosis but changed things around. There is ALWAYS hope!!
Another one is When Hope NEver Dies by Marlene McKenna.
It ain't over til it's over!!
Oh honey, you are and will remain in my daily prayers.

Judy,
I am sorry to hear of your news. But, remember the docs aren't God. Only he knows how long each of us have on this earth. I have a friend who was told to get his affairs in order 17 years ago, and he is still here. He had part of his lung removed, chemo soo many times, but he is still here! Don't you give in, you continue to fight, we are all here for you. You are in all of our prayers every day.

Judy,
I'm so sorry to hear your news. Take time to process this news, but don't give up hope. I purposely never ask my doctor how long i have, because I know that no one can answer that question and i don't need that kind of negative energy. I am stage 4 too and I'm not ready to give up. Fight this with me!

Hi Judy, I am so sorry to hear this latest news. I cannot imagine just how you must be feeling but wish you the best...as the other posts say, only God knows how long any of us have. Many people have been given a couple of months and are still here today. Thinking of you,

You know we are all here for you. I am so sorry to hear that you are having a rough time of it. I agree that you should not give up. Maybe, like Em was suggesting, maybe now is the time to embrace the juicing and supplements? Maybe you can do it in conjunction with the chemo?
You are all ways in my prayers, Judy. Please let us know what we can do for you.
All my love,

Judy,
I'm so sorry that you are going through all of this. Like someone else here has already said, there are so many people that were given a "timeframe" that they have already exceeded. Doctors give information based on statistics. Every person is different and even if you are going through some difficulties right now it doesn't mean that you can't pull through this in the end. You can !!! There is always hope and miracles and only God knows what his plan is for you no matter what things look like right at this moment.
Have you tried a nutritional approach in the past ? I agree with Emily's philosophy on this. My Dad was given less than 6 months to live ( the Dr. actually just told us that recently). He is approaching the 1 year mark this month. Although it's like pulling teeth to get him to juice now, I got him to do it in the beginning and I firmly believe that it gave his body what it needed to start fighting the cancer itself. In the face of poor prognosis my father continues to be NED and have more energy than he has in years. My father is beating the odds he was given and Judy, you can too. Don't you give up. You have alot of supporters here and you are in a lot of prayers. Stay strong and fight this.
Best Wishes,

judy i am sorry to hear of your news. i know to well what that is like. my prog is not good either but i will fight. once you sort out that talk of a time frame remember as people have said that first God is the giver of all life and He is the only one who knows your time. second docs do go by the standard of care and stats that go with it. you remain in my prayers and may God guide and direct you and give you peace.

Judy honey,
Ignore the durn numbers. I got that same song and dance last March. According to my doc, I am supposed to die in 6 months. The numbers are an average and for average people. I HAVE NEVER CONSIDERED MYSELF AVERAGE OR normal for that matter, but that's another story. There are things you can do to help yourself if you are willing to work at it a little. I did the juicing diet change in November and do not regret it one bit. I look great and feel really good right now. I just spent 5 hours with my 81 year old Dad eating out and doing some shopping for him. He actually asked me if I still had cancer. When I said yes, but not like I did, he was surprised. He said I looked better now then I did 5 years ago.
Let me know if you want to know more about what I am doing, I would be happy to share.
Hugs honey and fight the beast with everything you can. I know you will. I will continue to keep you in my daily thoughts and prayers!!!!
