ok, now i'm starting to get panicked. Dad, has his follow-up ct scans next week, and just recently started complaining about lower back pain. Of course my mind is starting to wander and I'm already thinking the worst. Is back pain a sign of recurrent colon cancer? Quick history, dad was diagnosed stage 3, last july 2004. His last ct scant approximately 2 1/2 months ago was thankfully all clear. I'm wondering if I should call the oncologist right now even though he is already seeing him next week. I can tell my dad is really starting to get worried too. It's not like he's never had back pain before, but I guess any kind of pain anywhere just sends off alarm bells in our head now.
Please keep him in your prayers that all goes well with the scans.
thanks guys

I think we all panic when there is some new pain..was the pain associated with any new or lack of activity? Is it dull or sharp? Does it get better with rest/exercise? Is it new compared to his previous pain?
These are all things I ask myself to try and determine the surce of my back pain. Nanuk0
