Hi Brian. I wore tracksuit pants for many weeks after surgery. Anything else irritated the wound. On the other hand I also started chemo about a month after the surgery and that tended to slow the healing down too. Wearing anything with a belt was pretty much out of the question for quite a while.

Hello There!!! It took my usband Bob about a month before he could get back into his jeans. I was so glad for that as I had to share all my sweat pants with him and I was so glad to get them back. He said he finally figured out while as a bus driver why I wore them as they were so comfortable.

Just run around naked mate people will see the scar and forget the rest. Seriuosly though I live in the tropics and could get away with soft shorts, the shirts bugged me more with the itching as the hair grew back ,stay well regards Ron.

You got it wrong again mate it's the northern women that destroys the clothes not the heat. I haven't got many clothes so I have to train regularly so I can stay one step in front of them...THEN I WAKE UP siiggghh. Been keeping well just working too hard ,I have been lurking around just keeping an eye on all the folks in here glad your results continue to be good , keep it up Cheers Ron.0 -

Don't listen to Kanga... he was wearing nothing but silk thongs right after surgery.
(we haven't gotten him out of them since)0 -

Uh... which has prettier stewardesses? Quantas or New Zealand Air?
I'll be packing my WALKING shoes.
(Unlike Ron, I don't intend to run!)
Cheers

Man, there is some FUNNY stuff going on here...just the way I like it! Kanga, you're killing me...I thrive on the heat and humidity (my friends and family think I'm crazy) so when I see it's 100 in Aussie land I want to jump on a plane and come see you. Reality is I can't hardly stand a trip to the store, so a 24 hour plane ride will have to wait.
Re: my incision, I had an infection at the top of the incision (just below the belly button) and I have this 2" tall by a good 1" deep "slash" in my belly. It is now soft scar tissue, so it really doesn't hurt so much as it's just tender. Point is NOTHING can go on top of it, such as the elastic waist bands. I'm a sales dude so it will be funny for my customers to see me show up in running pants pulled up to my arm pits! (that is, when I return to work...)
Now for the revealing and hilarious...one of my surgeons made an interesting recommmendation on a follow up visit, after the infected incision deal. He removed the remaining staples OUCH and said "don't waste your money on gauze...wear your wife's Kotex pads over the incision" Man, has my wife had a field day w/that one. I just received a shopping bag FULL of maxi-pads from a neighbor saying he will love me "Always" (the name of the pads). I will never hear the end of this one....G'day mate! Brian.0
