Battling with HMO

Hi again,

I am awaiting approval this week from my HMO to get treatment for Stage IV rectal cancer done at a larger hospital outside my HMO. I'm hoping I will not have to appeal their decision.

Anyone out there had experience battling HMOs?

    I had to appeal a decision for another surgery and won. If your reg. hospital doesn't have an oncology surgeon I would use that argument. Keep up the fight, the sqeaky wheel ususally wins.
