finished chemo
Just wanted to let you know that I finished 6 months of chemo last week. I have to have a pet scan and colonoscopy next month, which of course makes me very nervous. I can't believe that it will be a year next month since I was diagnosed with rectal cancer. It has been a long haul. In some ways I think that the emotional part of dealing with cancer is worse than the physical. Hopefully it will get better as time goes on. I'm thinking of all of you and sending positive energy your way!

Jamie,
Congratulations on completing your chemo. Ending treatment is always difficult because it is like cutting that life line - but it will get better. Let us know how your scan and colonoscopy come out. I have a scan again next Tuesday, so I know how you are feeling with the anxieties. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Jamie,
Congratulations on the completion of chemo - It's a great success. You were diagnosed around the same time as my mom and she is having her first follow up CT scan today. We're hoping to get clear results this Tuesday. I'm only a caregiver so I dont know much about the physical part but I can tell you the emotional part is the hardest thing I've ever had to experience. There are good and bad days. I just try to surround myself with positive people and the survivor stories are a caregivers medicine.
All the best to you. Keep us posted.

Hi Jamie,
Hey, you and I are on the same schedule--I just finished six months of Folfox last weekend. My CT scan is scheduled for March 4 and I'm suppposed to get the results March 8. Do you know when you'll find out? I'm not supposed to have another colonoscopy until June, though, which will be a year from my first one, which was when I was diagnosed.
For the time being, I've gotten past the terrified part of waiting for the CT scan report. This website has really helped me see past the scary statistics and monochrome of CANCER. I figure if the news is bad I'll come running here and people will help me take the next step. Until then I am just going to enjoy feeling increasingly better.
Anyway, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Enjoy reclaiming your body!0 -
Hi!! I'm just STARTING my 6 months of FOLFOX - first treatment was Feb. 15. Any words of advice? How were your side effects? I have a CT scan on Tuesday at the inception of treatment because my colon cancer is a very rare, fast-moving kind and they need to know if there are any other tumours in the month since my surgery.rejoyous said:Hi Jamie,
