tumor on adrenal gland

my brother in law has been told that he has a tumor on his adrenal gland. Does this count as Kidney cancer? He has been going to the Cleveland Clinic and seeing a top endocronologist but they are trying to control it with medicine. He takes more than 20 pills a day and hundreds of dollars a month on prescriptions. His blood pressure goes so high and his potassium goes so low that he is in the emergency room every three days. As time goes on his time away from the emergency room gets less and less.He now has over $100,000.00 of medical bills for the emergency room, tests and doctors. I don't know what to do or who to contact and I guess I am looking for anyone with some information. The worst part is that he has no health insurance. he has not been able to work for over a year with this going on and no one will even tell us how much money we would need to try and get him a surgery. We have been waiting 2 months to see if medicare gets approved but even then they are saying it could possible be an elective surgery and not covered. It is so hard and frustrating any information at all would be greatly appreciated

Hey Niccole,
Your brother's case sounds unusual. I don't know if a tumor on the adrenal gland counts as kidney cancer, but I do know that kidney cancer can spread to the adrenal gland.
One thing I can tell you -- Cleveland Clinic is considered #1 in the world for kidney cancer, if that is what it is. And CC is also considered one of the best cancer treatment centers in the world all around. I would stay with them if I were your brother.0
