Sometimes, it's good to hear good news, so I want to encourage you all! in 2002, at age 29, I was DX with stage 3 colon cancer and underwent chemo for six months. I spent about 8 months out of chemo before I had a reoccurance and was diagnosed with mets to the liver. Officially, stage IV. So, I started the Folfox regeim with Avastin and underwent treatment for 6 more months. Last month I had a liver resection to remove the DEAD tumor. The pathologist used the word CURATIVE liver resection YEAH. All PET, CT, and CEA tests show that there is no cancer left ANYWHERE in my body YEAH! So, be encouraged, there is hope. There is light at the end of the tunel. If I can do it, so can you. Push through the side-effects and focus on the fact that you don't have to be one of the average statistics. You are strong. You are an individual. Fight and overcome this monster of a disease. My hope has been in my faith and have seen prayer rescue from my dispair and pain. My prayers and hope are with and for you.

It has been a while since we've heard from you. I should have known you were out there slaying the beast. Congratulations. You are a light of encouragement for all of us. I too was diagnosed Stage 3 in 2002 and had a recurrance this past Nov. 2004. I hopefully will be finished with my treatment next month at which time I am hoping and praying that I can join you and others in celebrating NED. My doctor is also using the curative word.

    Thanks for the encouragement.
