Hi, I'm currently taking Arimidex and seem to tolerate the joint pain that goes with it, thanks to Bextra. I did some research on Femara when my oncologist offered to switch me. Secondary side effects listed include tiredness, headaches and shortness of breath. These are supposedly temporary, so your's may pass. I decided to stick with the Arimidex but would have switched in a heartbeat if I'd been on Tamoxifen. Good luck!.

Hi Terri! Check with your MD about the Bextra. They came out this week saying that now Bextra will have warnings on the label like the Vioxx re: heart problems. I was using Bextra and getting great results but quit when I heard this. I don't want to take any chances with heart problems on top of everything I've been thru. Take care. HUGS!!tlmac said:Hi, I'm currently taking Arimidex and seem to tolerate the joint pain that goes with it, thanks to Bextra. I did some research on Femara when my oncologist offered to switch me. I saw that same report and plan to ask my doctor to consider switching me to Celebrex, especially now that a recent report indicates it might also protect against breast cancer.cruf said:Hi Terri! Terri, I believe Celebrex is in the same class of drugs as Viox and Bextra. Have you tried Glucosamine and Chrontroitin? Takes a few weeks to kick in, but it works fine for me.tlmac said:I saw that same report and plan to ask my doctor to consider switching me to Celebrex, especially now that a recent report indicates it might also protect against breast cancer.
