HI JUDY, I'M SORRY THE TESTS DID NOT GO THE WAY YOU WANTED. I'M SURE YOU ARE SO FRUSTRATED, BUT MAYBE COMING TO THIS SITE AND TYPING OUT YOUR FRUSTRAIONS MIGHT HELP A LITTLE BIT. WHEN I HAVE REALLY BAD DAYS I CAN'T WAIT TO GO TO BED AND HOPE THE NEXT DAY IS A LITTLE BETTER. YOU ARE IN MY PRAYERS AND YOU CAN MAKE IT THROUGH ALL THIS (JUST LIKE THE DOC SAID)0

UGH... No wonder you're tired. Well, at least they can do surgery to repair a murmur or a mitral valve leak or something like that. Maybe that's the reason for the enlargement. Sounds like you're doing OK otherwise. Keep your chin up. Keeping you and your husband in my prayers

Findings like this are always a worry when you have been through so much but at the saem time they can be very positive. you have been having trouble with dizziness if I rememeber right and it would be a problem if they found no cause. So finding things that may cause it gives them a chance to put it right and improve yor symptoms- it may even improve your tiredness although I suspect that may be more due to all your stress that you are under rather than a physical cause.
With respect to teh carotids the percentages refer to narrowing (what the docs call stenosis). the carotid arteries to the brain get narrowed with time due to atherosclerosis (fatty deposits that we all get in our arteries as we get older). If this gets too much and occludes the arteries more than 60% the surgeons will often consider clearing them out as they can cause dizziness by blocking the flow of blood to the brain. Hope this makes things a little clearer for you.
Best of luck in getting this sorted but it does sound like things are moving forward and you are certainly being well investigated. You obviously have a good medical team on your side. Let us know how it goes,

Judy--there is no doubt that chemo can effect our hearts--I have been thru so many tests as you know for a possible heart problem, now on the meds to sort it out.steved said:Findings like this are always a worry when you have been through so much but at the saem time they can be very positive. you have been having trouble with dizziness if I rememeber right and it would be a problem if they found no cause. I NEVER had heart problems before my chemo--and my specialist now definately thinks the chemo effected me. Replied to your email Judy so check it out.

Hi Judy, yes the doctor is right. You have been through a lot, a tremendous amount is more like it. But you are strong and you will make it through all of this too. I've heard that chemo can cause heart problems. My co-worker who was diagnosed in June with breast cancer underwent and continues to undergo test on her heart because of chemo's ability to effect your heart. Does that apply to everyone....I don't know.
I sure hope you get some real good news real soon. You most certainly deserve it.
Hugs,
