SMLC-Scar or Tumor?

Does anyone know if there's a way to determine if a spot on a catscan after chemo and radiation is scar tissue or still a tumor? My oncologist says
it's probably scar tissue and isn't concerned but I'd like to know for sure. Is this normal after radiation of the lungs?

Hi. Based on my experience (nsclc stage III-B, 3 years post surgery) I would ask for a follow-up scan in three months. If there is no sign of growth or change, then it probably is scar tissue. Cancers grow, - they don't just sit there. Three months is the normal time between scans to look for growth. It is not an emergency situation, - if there's growth, it will be slow.0
