A request!

Hello Everyone,

I'm sorry I haven't posted this week, but a chemo friend of mine has been my priority.

I met Memory, a 27 year old kindergarten teacher, last spring when we were both having chemo. She and I became friends and I was so thrilled when she was declared in remission from Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in May. She started back teaching in August and everything looked bright for her. However, she began having some unexplained pains that resulted in her having her blood work done a couple of weeks earlier than usual. Last Friday she was admitted to the hospital with what the doctors thought might be leukemia. To make a long story a little shorter, she had to be transported on Tuesday to MD Anderson in Houston where they diagnosed her with a very rare cancer called Burkitt's Lymphoma. It is very aggressive, but does respond to treatment.

I now know how helpless caregivers feel. This last week has been so difficult as there is nothing I can do for her but let her know how much people are pulling for her.
