HELP!

In July I had half of my liver remove due to neuroendcrine cancer that apparently originated in the liver.
I am having a very hard time with my recovery. I had colon cancer surgery before and that was piece of cake compared to this. Is there anyone I can talk to?

    I myself am plagued with nueroendocrine tumors. Mine cover both front and rear lobes of the liver. Surgical removal is not an option. In the past year I've been through 34+ chemo therapy sessions consisting of Carboplatin, BP-16, Streptozotocin and 5-FU. None of these had any effect. I just completed 2 consecutive months of Hepatic Artery Embolizations. This is a process where blood supplies which feed the liver are blocked and obstructed. It really is a painful experience. The liver really gets angry when you start shutting off its blood supply. The tumors get rather pissed as well. Being that the tumors are so sread out upon my liver, sugrgical removal is not an option. I myself hope for the day when or if the tumors can be beaten down to a size where they can be surgically removed. In many ways you might want to consider yourself fortunate.

    May I ask what state you are receiving treatment in? My dad was just diagnosised with liver cancer that orginated in the colon. He is doctoring at Barnes in St.Louis. They are going to begin chemotreatment in a few weeks as soon as he recoups from colon surgery. The oncologist told him they are going to use a new chemo drug just recently released by the FDA but I do not know its name. How long since you were diagnosed? They told him if this did not work there would be nothing they could do. I'm wondering if that is true. Sounds like they have tried several things in your case...is that because of the type of cancer it may be?
