THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT
Please don't let this discourage any of you. Every situation is different. I can't go into my Mom's Stage IV colon cancer in detail right now, but only to say that she tried hard, prayers were felt from everywhere, but this was her time. She was 80 years old, never ill before in her life, and a very strong person. But I know that she is with my Dad whom she missed terribly, and many other loved ones that have passed on before.
I'm inspired to tell all of you, please cherish the moment. Being a cancer survivor myself I know how difficult it is sometimes to be positive and have hope. But even that, HOPE, the Lord provides beyond what we see or feel. Hang on to your loved ones for support - don't give up - take one moment at a time - you will get through this in the way He will help you to endure.
As always my prayers are with all of you. Continue to come here for information and support. You are in a circle of friends.
Love,
Monika

Dear Monika, please accept my sympathies on the passing of your mother to a far better place...one in which we will all see each other again some day.
I must admit, I was a little confused with a post made concerning the "bad news" about "Monika's mom." Since I have often posted updates on my mother who has inoperable lung cancer, along with Bert's progress is dealing with colon cancer, I thought the post was intended for me, forgetting that there is another MONIKA on this board who spells her name just like mine!!!!! Doesn't usually happen but hence the confusion.
I thank God that my mom is for the time being doing fine and praise God, left for a five week trip to Europe to spend some time with her sister.
Stay in touch please and I certainly admire your strenght and courage.
Hugs,
Monika, with a "k" too!0 -
Hullo Monika--our sincerest condolences to you and your family. Having lost both my parents(mum to brain cancer) I sincerely know the pain that is in your heart. Be comforted that her love is ever lasting. Dear Monika,
You and your family have my sympathy. I am glad to hear that you were with your mom, and know what you mean about it being one of the hardest things you've done. I lost my dad 4 years ago now to recurrent colon cancer, at the age of 85.
The grace he showed during his last month was inspirational, and a comfort to us all. He had been a trooper early on in his disease, but accepted that "we all have to die from something". He felt blessed to have lived so long, and had, in his opinion, a very good life...which is all we can hope for. He went in his sleep on what would have been his 59th wedding anniversary.
Wishing us all continued hope and peace, Judy0
