Hi Susana,
Thats so sweet of you to think about me. I haven't posted in awhile but still read every day - maybe even 10 times a day.
My family had a rough couple weeks. My 33 year old brother had a heart attack but he is doing great and there was no severe damage. I'm looking very forward to the new year and leaving 2004 behind!
My mother is on her 3rd cycle out of 6 of chemo pills. Considering everything she is doing great. Her hands and feet get really red and sore but still manageable. She is also very tired. She sleeps in and goes to bed early and has many cat naps through out the day. She's normally a busy person so seeing her like this is hard but she'll bounce back soon. She'll be done chemo in December.
I'm better these days - I still get worried about it coming back but deep down i believe its gone for good!
How about your dad? How's he feeling and how much more chemo does he have?

I am so sorry to hear about your brother. Again, and this is weird that we have even more in common, but my hubby had a heart attack 2 years ago at the age of 34. His right main artery was 99% clogged and they told me it was a miracle he survived. They put a stent in, he was in the hospital for about 2 days and today he is doing wonderfully well. Unfortunately he'll be on about 4 different medications for the rest of his life, but I guess that beats the alternative. Your brother will be fine, are they putting a stent in? I know how you feel, it's just one more thing to worry about.littlejulie said:Hi Susana,

My dad just got done treatment #2 of 12 last week, he only gets done in late February, so obviously we have a very long winter ahead of us, but I believe in my heart God will get us through it. As far as how he's feeling, I guess besides the mild diarrhea and nausea and now some mouth sores, he is "OK".
Before this happened to my Dad, he was the most active guy around. Our family owns a family restaurant and we're about to open up a second one early next year, and my dad used to be the first one there at 6:00 am and the last one to leave at around 10:00 pm and he NEVER complained, especially about being tired. It also is very hard to see my dad this way, it hurts me so much. The more I look at him the weaker and sickly he looks to me and it hurts so so so much. I know when the chemo is over he'll God granted look and feel himself again, but it's still so hard NOW to deal with it.
I too hope this damn beast doesn't show it's ugly face again and I too unfortunately worry about it every single day. I know I shouldn't and go on with life but it's so hard not to worry. Maybe it's to soon, since this all just happened within the past few months, and hopefully time will ease my worry, but I doubt it will.
Well, I'm so glad to hear from you and to see you on the board again, please keep in touch and I'll continually keep your mom and now brother in my prayers.

Oh my god - we really do have a lot in common. My brother did not have to put a stent in - he's doing really well. It was considered minor and is still doing follow up tests.
Take care of yourself and your Dad. It's weird how chemo effects everyone differently. My mother haven't had mouth sores instead it really effects her hands and feet.
thanks again for your concern, that was really sweet. take care and keep in touch,
julie0
