Just Had to Let You Know
As most of you already know, Bert is the silent one of our happy little twosome and throughout this whole process has very rarely ever said much about his colon cancer or doubted for one minute (unlike me.....)that he would be a survivor. Well, this morning and you can all imagine my shock here, when Bert called me at work and simply said 4.4. I didn't quite get it at first, but then I realized that he had called the oncologist (so out of character for him) to check what his September 16 CEA count was. That was the day I posted that the August CEA was 9.0 after being off chemo four weeks.
Bert's CEA is now back down to 4.4, the lowest it has been since December 2003. Doc told him this is great and with all his clean scans, it's even greater. However, we will still proceed with scheduled scans in October. I am overjoyed and just wanted share.

That is great news Monika....I know your heart has been going up and down just at Bert's CEA has!! Just imagine how our lives are ruled by CEA and scans....it is really a totally different life now. Let us hope his CEA stays where it is, or goes lower, so you can relax at last.

Hooray, hooray, hooray!!!!!!!
When are Bert's scans scheduled? Mine are October 12. I can't drink the regular contrast stuff. My hospital did have a powder they mixed in juice last time, and now tell me they don't use it any more! Gotta find the substitute, or there will be some serious hurling going on here!
Relax and enjoy the good results. Here's hoping October brings more good news.((((())))))
