Hi, I saw your post when I was doing a search on liver cancer and it prompted me to join the CSN so I can give you a response to your posting.
I do know Dr. B. Koneru. He treated my father for his liver cancer at UMDNJ in Newark. He is the head of Liver Transplant surgery for UMDNJ. Please feel free to write me at zithroman@aol.com.0 -
Yes my brother met with Dr. Koneru. He seems to be a very nice doctor. He had given my brother with liver cancer an option. Chemoembolization. We don't know much about it. Just briefly what Dr. Koneru explained. It is not scheduled yet till he has a echocardiogram this friday 2/18. since he has a valve problem. He is so scared and I just wish there was someone else in NJ who could talk to him thats been there. please contact me at katzpur@aol.com0

Hi Katzpur, I hope your brother is doing well. I do not know much about Chemoembolization for I had a Liver Resection in October 2004. I had one large Tumor that was removed. I tolerated the procedure well. I was admitted on a Wednesday and out of the hospital that Friday. I am presently receiving Chemo. This is my 3rd Cancer. I had breast, Colon and Liver which was a mestastecs(sp) from my Colon Cancer I had in 2001. I have been very lucky as you can see Iam still here still fighting this disease. Thank GOD. I will never give up no matter how bad things may get or be. DR, Koneru is one of the best dr I have met. I have a follow up appt. with him March 4th. I understand your brothers fear, I have been there many of times. Livinkatzpur said:Yes my brother met with Dr. Koneru. He seems to be a very nice doctor.
