Pain in knees

it has been 2 yrs. since my bc, but about 3 wks ago my knees starting hurting so bad and they have continuned to get worse and now my legs, elbows etc. I've never had any problems before. I'm on arimidex. Has everyone experinced this type of pain? Thanks for your reply.

    Hi pads. I did have joint pain from tamoxifen, but I have recently switched to arimidex and the pain is not as bad. I take glucosamine & chondroitin which seems to help. However, if you have been taking the arimidex for some time already and just now are experiencing the pain, then it would be something to bring up to one of your doctors. Any change in your medical condition is worthy of checking out. Better safe than sorry right? Good luck

    Many people do experience joint pain on Arimidex.
    I'm on tamoxifen (2 years out), but my arthritis in my knees has gotten to the point where I'm going to try surgery in another week. I can't walk without a cane or crutches. My doctor says it "shouldn't" be the tamoxifen, but that it could be. Did you have taxol? Sometimes that causes a lot of residual joint pain too. Diane

    I too have begun to have terrible difficulty with my knees. I am on Zometa, Faslodex, and Aromacin. Have had these drugs since last November and the pain in my knees just started 3 weeks ago. I also have developed severe degenerative joint disease in my neck, which may or may not be connected. I just called my PCP for an appointment to look at my knees. My oncologist is on vacation. I will let you know what he thinks. Ellen

    It's been two years since my surgery. I'm on Arimidex, and have also had trouble with joint pain. It is mostly in my knees and my wrists and some of my fingers. I'm on Celebrex. Went to the hand surgeon who did my carpal tunnel surgery and he said there was nothing else to do except for Cortisone shots. The pain is not that bad yet. Sometimes at night I take Advil, and that usually reduces the pain. But getting out of bed first thing in the morning----wow. If you come up with something that helps with this, please pass it along to me. Thanks.
