Thank you all. You are just about the best folk I've ever had the pleasure of meeting and I wish to dear God that we all could have met under better circumstances. But then again, the Lord works in mysterious ways and I consider each and every one of you my extended family that I care about very, very deeply.

I am better today...actually, I was already a little better after I had posted because it felt great to put my thoughts in writing...it was almost like getting them out to give myself some peace of mind.

Now, for the best part. I just wanted to let you know that Bert saw Dr. Lenz yesterday and asked, this time by himself because I just didn't want to know (you guys know...the old bury your head in the sand rountine and maybe it will all go away) what his last CEA (taken June 10 after six weeks off chemo) was and it had DROPPED from 9.0 to 6.0!!!!!! The onc still hasn't figured it out but is obviously as pleased with this result as we both are (for us, pleased is an understatement). I don't think I need to say anymore. Is it the chemo? Is it a combo of the chemo with the meds Bert takes for being type 2 diabetic? Take your best shot. All we all know is that it's down and that after 6 weeks off chemo. Liver test also should well into the normal range as did all other bloodwork. One more treatment to go guys......

By the way Kanga, you are very right. Because Bert's onc is somewhat stumped by this whole CEA thing without any evidence of disease anywhere,he is truly right on top of everything and will not slack of with continued testing until he himself is satisfied. Bert and I are very blessed to have found this great oncologist.

Hope everyone has a great day and I'll try my darndest not to worry with overkill in the future. I didn't say I'd accomplish that, but I sure as heck will try. If I don't succeed, it's always so good to know that you guys are out there.

    I'M SO GLAD THAT THINGS ARE MUCH BETTER.
    WHAT YOU ALL ARE TEACHING ME IS THE IMPORTANCE OF KEEPING POSITIVE BUT DOUBTS AND FEAR ARE ALSO JUST A PART OF THIS DISEASE. MY FRIEND WILL HAVE HER FIRST SCAN NEXT WEEK AFTER HER OPERATION AND A COUPLE MONTHS OF CHEMO. PLEASE

    Hey Monika--yu wanna stop kissin Bert so much--some crazy mate of mine over here reckons that saliva has a bad habit of being transferred during tha kissin process.
    Now, 'ol kanga has put some thought into that and metinks he is right---
    Therefore, it is presumed that this exchange of bodily fluids has an adverse effect on CEA levels.

    On a more serious note; kanga has asked "he on high" to put MUGGINS friend on the list of "survivors" so prevalent on this site.
    Your friend has a seat waiting alongside kanga MUGGINS in the survivors room--a prayer and a rainbow coming to her for good luck!
