question about bone marrow
Recently I had a CT scan that showed a spot on my liver. So my onc ordered a MRI to get a better picture. It did not show the spot that the CT showed but found 2 new spots. He also ordered a MRI on lower back since I was having some back pain. It showed that "something was infiltrating my bone marrow". What does this mean? and What are all the possibilities besides the cancer spreading?
If anyone can help me with this, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks
Patty

Hi Patty:
Wish I had some thoughts or ideas about what your doc's assessment means. I've not heard of it before.
However, it sounds as if your doc is thorough and I'm sure he'll get to the bottom of it soon.
In the meantime, try not to make yourself sick with worry. I know, that's much easier said than done. Even the best of docs are guilty of sometimes thinking out loud, when they really shouldn't, which succeeds in scaring us half to death, then they discover that they were wrong in their initial assumption(s). In reality, it could be something simple to rememdy and there's no way of knowing that at this point. The waiting game is a beast, but try to take good care of yourself. Perhaps throw yourself into something which requires your full attention...a distraction you enjoy which may help take your mind away from it for as much time as possible.
My thoughts and best wishes are with you and please keep us posted.

This week has been good--it was Bible school at our church and I was a station leader. Nothing like 320 kids everyday to take your mind off your own troubles. Even had my bone marrow biopsy one day after Bible school and then returned to it the next day.inkblot said:Hi Patty:
