I've just been diagnosed with a superficial bladder tumor. I don't smoke, use saccharin, work with rubber, etc... Is there anyone else out there who is under 35 with a history of these types of tumors?

    Hi,
I have transitional cell carsonoma of the bladder. What kind of bladder cancer do you heve? I am a 51 year old female. Are you going to one of the major cancer clinic's? If not, I suggest you check one out. The three are the Mayo Clinic, Sloan Kettering, and M D Anderson. You can find them on the internet. It took me two weeks to get into the Mayo Clinic when I called in 2000.
I have had over 25 surgeries or procedures and two chemo's.

    Hi over there,
I first started passing blood in my urine when I was just 30. It used to happen once or twice a year. Then a few years later the same thing happened again. I just dismissed it as something trivial until I started peeing blood clots continously when I was about 40. That's when I discovered it was bladder cancer. Did a TURBT to remove the tumour and followed by radiotherapy. I have already done 10 cystos since every half yearly and there is still no recurrence. I am 45 now. Dont worry. Bladder cancer is not a very aggressive form of cancer. God willing. You will also be cured of it.

    Hi,

I have had 27 surgeries and two chemo's with my bladder cancer or transitional cell carsonoma. I really suggest getting checked at a major cancer institute

Bladder cancer is a bad cancer to have according to my mother's doctors. She although older (58) when diagnosed also did not smoke or work with rubber or use artificial products. We have been baffled. Her cancer is also acting "differently" according to her doctors than they traditionally see. She went through the aggressive chemo-radiation procedures that I have been viewing from other readers on the board. She was stage IIB transitional carcinoma and apparantly cancer free for 8 months. It has now metastisized to the vaginal wall and we believe elsewhere. Very difficult for doctors to proove through CAT and PET scans. I wonder if she would have been better off with the radical removal of the bladder when first diagnosed. Get several opinions on your situation.
