Hi Cathy. I was dx March 2003, but am fairly new to the message board. I was stage IIIA, 1/10 nodes +, ER-, PR+, HER2+. Had a mastectomy and am in a trial getting herceptin. I am grateful this board exists and already know it will be a better place with you back on it! Nice to meet you.

    Hi Cathy,
Welcome back and you sound really good. You've survived A LOT - an amazing lady - I am so impressed.

    Hugs,Jean
When you are stronger would you feel like telling us a little more about your surgeries - only if you want toi share and are able to do so strength-wise.

Wow! I just viewed your webpage! You're amazing, and so is God! I was dx on Jan. 30 2004 with IDC. Mastectomy Feb., 5cm tumor, 3 /17 pos. nodes, er/pr +, her2 -, finished 3rd cycle of TAC, with 3 more to go. 5 and 1/2 weeks of radiation, then Tomoxifen. Also, thanks to God, I'm doing very very well. Although the 3rd cycle kicked my butt a little longer, I'm back to feeling myself one week later. Worked out 3 times already this week, hoping to get my immune system back on top and ready for the 4th cycle.
It's great to meet inspirational people like you and so many others on this wonderful site! I usually check here daily! I don't want to miss anything! Look forward to hearing more from you! Thanks, and nice to meet you!

Hi, Cathy-I am new here, just signed on in March this year after learning my cancer had spread into a lymph node. Everyone was so kind and encouraging, I visit almost daily now. I am doing well and very glad to hear you are improving. I hope to see you here more often as you continue to get better. Love, Betty

    Hi Cathy!
Welcome back to the site and thank you for welcoming all of us newcomers.

I'm a 4 year breast cancer survivor, lumpectomy, lymphnode dissection (30, all negative) ER-, AC and radiation. I'm also a 10 mo. survivor of melanoma.

It sounds like you've been through a lot and the good news is that you're here to tell us about it! Congratulations! I'm looking forward to reading your posts.

Welcome back, Cathy. I only discovered the board a month or so ago but visit daily. Found my 2.5cm grade 3 lump on January 19, 2003. Presurgical tests discovered a second mass in my other breast so on February 6 of last year I had a bilateral mastectomy. Sixteen lymph nodes removed, all negative. Four cycles of AC ended in May. I've been on Arimidex and Fosamax since then. I'm an elementary school teacher and was forced to take the 2nd half of last year off. Got my hair back by the fall of 2003 and went back to work in August. So far so good but I still have those moments of panic when something hurts that shouldn't. This board has helped me so much. It will be great having another positive survivor to remind me how lucky I am.

Hummingbyrd I had a computer crash on me so I have a new email addy that you can use to contact me.... It is nativeind2@msn.com I would love to call you because I now have a cellphone that enables me to call free so if you can email me your number I will call you anytime after 9pm & wknds. Over the summer it will be 7pm & 3 day wknds!!! Anyway I have missed you so much & the last time I was in here was a while back before surgery & someone said that you were having computer problems too. Shortly there after I had a overload in the little hotmail acct which was free but only had 2.0 percent of storage space. By the time I got out of the hospital msn closed it because the lack of activity & it overlaoded. I could not retreive all my contacts so I am starting from scratch again. I would love to talk to you asap!!!!! I have missed you & a few others sooooooooo much....For a long time I was not sure if I would ever be able to key anymore>>>Yet the Lord is truelly amazing !!!! The Drs told me it would take a very long time to regain my basic motor controll abilities..... Well guess what???? WRONG AGAIN DOCS !!! I have far exceeded their expectations & can do all sorts of things>>> So please email me as soon as you read this & I will email you right back plus call. This is the first site I joined & it gives me a lot more then those MSN sites.... You know what I mean? That site that I opened.... I quit going in there because it became such a hassle for me & let someone else take over it that has more time then me. So I am not in charge of it at all anymore & really have nothing to do with it. Anyway I have rambled enough & wanted to say Thanks again for all the responses>WELCOME TO ALL NEW MEMBERS !!!!!! I look forward to getting to know you & feel free to email me just make sure you add something in the topic so I will recognize where the email came from. I need to add that there is a major virus that comes in the form of attachments & fwd fwd going around the Wash DC area so I will not open any emails that have those unless I let McAfee scan it first. I am not buying another computer again!!!! Hummers you better email me my Sister in Our Lord.... I love you girl.
    God Bless Alll Of You

get you life back, dont take tomoxifen

Hi there! my name is lisa and i recently quit tomoxifen after a year. it caused major rages, bone pain..ect,, after i quit it i had a mini stroke, and withdrawls that landed me in the hospital.

reserch this drug, it is very toxic.. I googled "tomixifen and rages", it went on to say about how toxic the drug really is. i had a complete hysterectomy, and a double mastectomy due to stage 2

breast cancer. the chemo and radiation was a breeze compared to "tomoxifen (toxic-fin is what it should be called) any way, i have two little kids and it wasnt fair to them to see me go through

these rages. it robbed me of 1 yr of my life. and if i do die, I refuse to go out that way, i want my kids to remember me as mommy, not momster!  I was at peace with chemo, and radiation,

and so was my family..but this past year almost ended my 13 yr marridge. so when you get you life back, please reconsider tomoxifen, so you can keep your good life going! im sorry part of this is written small, just figured out the font thing.. i hop this helps you, and i hope your are doing well.  best reguards Lisa reynolds

    Hello Lisa

I see that you are new and you have mistakenly posted on an old post from 2004**   We have all done that when we first started here.  **   If you click my name it will take you to my Home Page and you can read my story there...........I was not able to take Tamoxifen because my BC is Triple Negative 3B and Tamoxifen is only for hormone driven BC I think.   I'm very sorry you had such a hard time with it but send you prayers for strength and courage as you go forward in your Battle.   Keep Posting **  We all understand ....Love and Prayers.  Glo
