So...caught the Judy, Bob and Stacy Show today. You guys were so cool and professional. I would have had a major case of stage fright besides not having a thing to wear. Unlike General Bob with that chest full of lettuce. And Miss Stacy sashaying around in her sexy little flowery number. And Judy sporting a crisp haircut pencil skirt--America's answer to Julie Andrews.
The fans would like to know the following:
a. Did you really meet in the green room before the show?
b. Is Sharon a real diva and do her plastic surgery scars show?
c. What was for dinner at Morton's?
d. How many celebrities did you see on the streets of LA?
e. When do you get your own talk show?
f. Where is Monika?
Your public awaits.
Aspaysia who was still stoned from her dental appointment...but that's the best way to watch TV.

    Hi Aspaysia....
What an experience. It all came together pretty quickly and the media relations coordinator for the American Cancer Society was very protective...looking out for our interests.
The show had us stay in separate hotels, and separate little "green rooms"? (I just love the jargon). They covered me with more makeup than I own, but it still didn't look overdone, which is hard to do with 5 shades of eyeshadow and 4 shades of lipstick! We had to swear not to contact each other before the show, to keep it "fresh" on stage!
Sharon was lovely, very kind and sweet, and doing this show was very important to her. I'm thrilled to help to get the word out. She did share that she lost her hair, but still had to have her legs waxed (they edited that part out).
I'm too tired to have done the whole site seeing, star search stuff, but I was impressed with the $200 t-shirts in the cute little boutiques. We did get a shirt from the show, NOT the $200 type.
It was great to meet Bob and Stacey; Bob had to catch a flight out, so couldn't join us at Morton's, which featured large slabs of red meat, with some fine wine and great dessert. Stacey and I were so tired (it was 11 pm their time, so the middle of the night for us).
Maybe we should all plan a semi-colons national get-away weekend, hmmm?
    Regards to you all, Judy

    Hi Aspaysia...

When I was watching the show today, it was like a car accident...I wanted to watch, but was afraid of what I might see! There was quite a bit of editting from our segment, as the others seemed to run longer than planned, and theirs weren't editted.

    Speaking for myself...

a.) We each had our own "green room" (really taupe/beige) where we were confined until the taping. Taping was to start at 7:00 PM, but didn't until 8:30 PM...that was California time. My body was still on Indiana time, meaning 10:30 PM. Any anxiety was too tired to show itself.

b.) Sharon is truly beautiful. Not tall, I'd say around 5' 2". Skin looks flawless.

c.) Dinner was very "abundant." The cuts of meat were the size of a small dog. Pricey. After dinner, the host offered us a drink from the cordials tray with the dessert offered to us by the show. They picked up the tab for the dinner, but we were responsible for the tip. That was tough, as we didn't know how much the total meal was. Unfortunately, Bob wasn't able to join us, as he needed to make his flight time, which was too close due to the late start of the taping.

d.) No celebrity sightings by me. However, my driver from the airport felt the need to tell me he was celibate...and I had NO desire to try to change that...still unsure why he felt that urge to disclose... I stayed at the Hyatt on Sunset Blvd.

e.) My own talk show is scheduled for the day following the first sighting of a flying pig. I was honored to be able to do that show, but cannot make a permanent home in California...simply not my style (did love that weather, though!).

f.) I understand that Monika was in California around that time, exact location remains a mystery.

It was a wonderful experience, and am thankful for the opportunity. But what would be even more fun is a Vegas reunion for us...Any takers?

Aspaysia honey if anyone has her own show it should be you!! Or your own COMEDY club you make me laugh my hinder off every time you post.

For the sake of the old adage "laughter is the best medicine" could you please find it in your day to post more often so we could all heal quicker for crying out loud??!! Not to mention that I can skip my Pilates workout on the days you post.

All I can say is you rock!!

Now as for the TV celebs (and you nailed the Julie Andrews) what FUN IT WAS TO SEE THEM ON TV!!!!

I made my kids all come in to see my friends! I couldn't wipe the smile off my face.

But my hubby is sour grapes wondering why I wasn't asked....are you kidding? If she offered a trip to that meat slab restaurant after having colon cancer I think she may have had to get out the smelling salts.....LOL!!!

I was so proud of my semi-colons!!! BRAVO!

peace, emily who has had her share of celebrity sightings

    Ahoy, Assp -

Glad you got to see the show. I actually missed it - seems that's the one channel the local cable channel doesn't carry - of course here in Mississippi, they have the Jerry Springer Channel, which runs Springer 24x7. (kidding of course)

It was really a neat premise and I am glad I got to go. Unfortunately I missed the dinner as I was on a short time table. I did get to ride to the airport with Amber, the young survivor from another segmnent of the show. We had a good chat.

I didn't see any celebs, unless you count the women who once worked for Heidi Fleiss - and I only SAW them, I didn't ENGAGE them!

Thanks for the note - hopefully our being on the Sharon Show will help raise awareness and compel some folks to go out and get screened.

I was so bummed out that the show wasn't aired here in San Antonio!! I could not find it anywhere. But I know you three did GREAT!! And what a chance to get the word out!! Terrific!

Stacy, I am game for a Las Vegas get together! What fun. You can get some pretty good flight/hotel rates (especially in the summer when the temp. is 115 degrees)

Congratulations to our movie stars and thanks for getting the word out. As much as this site helps me to cope with everything (and cheaper than a therapist) it would be nice if we didn't have the need for this site!!!

    Take care everyone.

Thanks, Guys, for sharing stories about your brush with celebrity. I was a journalism major in college and would have ended up working for the Enquirer if I had not married my high school sweetheart and produced a honeymoon baby nine months later. Good career move, eh? Good revenge on my ex--she is my exact clone. Hah!

As to why I don't post as faithfully as you all; I just need a break from all the pain and sadness sometimes. So I take refuge in my book discussion groups over at Yahoo but cannot stay away for long. I try to cheer folks by being lighthearted (not to trivialize our condition but things are too serious to take ourselves seriously). I can't fill SpongeBob and Kanga's shoes even though I have big size ten boats. Help me out here...

I grew up in a comedy club. Or rather a concentration camp. We referred to our parents as "The Don and Kathy Show" and they were better than TV. Forced to be funny or risk being relegated to the sidelines, we honed our wit to a knife-edge sharp enough to break into the general hilarity of the house. My brother is a good mimic who was once fired by a pompous **** that deserved the Peter Sellers treatment. The sister that I now live with sent her husband to the ER with a hernia from laughing so hard at one of her bon mots. And the baby girl that was born when we were teenagers is pretty twisted as a result of our evil influence. I was usually just part of the peanut gallery holding onto my aching sides. Although, I did make sissy choke with laugher the other day as the cookie she was eating spewed out her nose. Guess that goes to prove you really can die laughing. Not a bad way to go. As Groucho Marks said, "A good laugh is nothing to sneeze at."

Aspaysia, probably the silliest person you will ever meet is heartened by a new study proving that getting the giggles makes positive changes in the brain. He Haw!

I got to catch the show at midnight (central standard time), and my only complaint was that your segment wasn't long enough. But the show was great, and hopefully it will get the word out about colon cancer. I had a bad experience with the local ACS--just because I'm a woman they assumed I had breast cancer. DUH. One last question--how do I go about getting your autographs??

    Autographs available on eBay...

Actually, I think we should be like rock stars, and sign body parts of fans...unfortunately, the relevant part isn't easy to get to with a Sharpie!

I am brewing up a way to get those interested in a little summer trip...the first idea was Vegas, but Austin Texas might be better. That way, Jose (The CSN Guy) could meet up with us without having to miss work, and maybe even provide a tour of the call center? Time will tell...
