I have never been exactly where the different stages start and end. I belive I am in your state. I had a survery for milenoma about 20 years ago and it reoccured in my left axiallary lymph nodes. Since then I have develop lymphedema.
If you want to talk, let me know. From what I understand, if there are any more reoccurances, there will be no procedures (acceptable to me) available.0 -
I am very sorry. I have already said prayer for you.
I haven't reached remission yet, but treatments are making strong progress now against heavy metastasis. I too am Stage IV metastisizing melanoma and have taken 5 cycles of High-Dose Interleukin2. Had 1 cycle of Bio-Chemotherapy early. Looks at this point like I will need 2 more HD-IL2 cycles (April and May) and then we will hold for scans toward the end of June.
Which treatments have you endured in your previous bouts?0 -
Brad, - I am a neighbor from OH., stage 4, metasticized from chest to neck/spinal cord. Undergoing daily radiation (7 wks.) using temozolomide starting next week.- What treatments did you have? heard anything about temozolomide? Thank God about your health/positive outlook!KentuckyBrad said:I am very sorry. I have already said prayer for you.

Hi KB...Where did your melanoma met to? My husband was diagnosed today...2 tumors to the brain (one has been removed a week ago, the other scheduled for 4/19) and one on the lung. Don't even know where it is coming from (haven't even made an appt with a derm yet). How bad is the HD-IL2? How long ago were you diagnosed? And if you don't mind me asking, how old are you? My hubby is only 34.KentuckyBrad said:I am very sorry. I have already said prayer for you.

Hi my name is Cindy I have had three stage IV cancers removed one was an reaccurance and I had it made into a vaccine. But recently had a brain tumor and wondered how you dealt with yours and did you have sterostatic radiation after that? I have 6 Biochemotherapy, three surgeries to remove the tumor and radiaton. I am in a clinical trial using my cancer cells. But this brain tumor just appeared and had side effects from surgery and hopefully am on the mend. I was diagnoised October 2001. All I can say is keep fighting and removing the tumors. I never knew whre my original cancer came from either. But there are lots of new things on the horizon so hang in there.lcyates said:Hi KB...Where did your melanoma met to? I guess you know by now that temozolomide is not so bad. I just finished a one year regimen with that (I had a brain tumor), and I never was incapacitated by it. Antiemetics like zofran help a great deal. Hope you are doing well.DanFlo said:Brad, - I am a neighbor from OH., stage 4, metasticized from chest to neck/spinal cord. My husband has stage 4 melanoma. It started in his left arm 2 years ago and he was on interferon, which did nothing. Just this past July he was told he had tumors on his pleura of the lung. His taking DTIC chemo. I'm scared. He is extremely hopeful he will be cured. We also do an organic diet with many suppliments. I would love to chat more.0
