remission after being in stage 3

I was wondering if any of the NHL large diffuse b-cell pts. if any of your Dr.s were hopeful in staying in or being in remission for more than 2 years after this Chop-R treatment. I mean our onco. just kinda says well you never know, I was wondering if anyone else's doctor provided you with hope from previous cases? I mean I guess it's really hard when you wait day by day, and wonder if is it todya tht it's going to come back or is it tomorrow. I mean yes, I do try to live each day to it's fullest but that horrible thought always seems to sit in my mind. I pray that anyone who suffers from this horrible disease achieves a fast and speedy recovery. My thoughts and prayers are with you nad your family. Just wondering if this treatment works? thanks for input.

    dear rocky5,I have a friend who has been in remission for 5 years with stage 3. How long have you been in remission? When was your nhl diagnosed? My brother told me after I was diagnosed,"We're all terminal".ANd it's true,just that some of us know when we might die and from what more than other's do! Hang in there!

    My onco said that I have a 50/50 chance of being in remission for 5 years. Although that's not great, SOMEBODIES got to be in the first 50, right? Then after that, chances are suppose to be better. Right now I am on 4th treatment of CHOP plus Rituxin, each three weeks. I have a PET scan coming Monday the 19th, so should know more when go Thursay for chemo. Am praying that th e Lord and the meds are kickin some serious sick cells out of here. Don't have any idea what the next step is...........am pretty scared,........
