I'm wondering if anyone is having trouble sleeping while taking Arimidex? I have been on this since November and have not been able to sleep without taking an Ambien. I am also having a hard time losing weight. Are these side effect of the drug? Any info is appreciated. Thanks

    Hi, I've been on Arimidex for 2 years now and yes, having sleeping problems is one of the side effects. The trying to get the weight off thing is a natural too. Hard to do. I've been on a diet forever and nothing works. I take a sleeping pill too from time to time don't not all the time. Now I'm going to try the Arkins diet to see if that helps.     Hi-I have just recently started Arimidex(January). I am also having trouble sleeping through the night. I take a sleep med besides and still have the trouble. Am also getting headaches in the AM recently. I am wondering if you are getting headaches as side effect to Arimidex? Weight loss has been an issue too. I have stage 3A & ER + ,Her2/neu +. I had finished chemo in October and radiation in December 2003.

    Hi, I have been on arimidex for about 2 yrs too. I do have trouble sleeping and also have had the other symptoms...weight gain and absolutely horrible hot flashes. I get headaches occasionaly. I do take a med for sleeping on a need to basis, but that's fairly often! Anyone have any suggestions for the flashes...that bothers me the most. I am on paxil for that, but I don't think it's helped much. Thanks and good luck to all of you!

    Interesting you should mention sleep problems. I never had trouble sleeping before but have been on Arimidex for about 10 months and my sleep is very limited..did not think that there was a connection but now maybe there is...

    This is the first time I have come to this site. I finshed surgery/Chemo/Radiation in Sept of 03. I was on tamoxofen for 2 months then was switched to Lupron and Arimidex in Jan 04 due to synptoms. I am glad to know that the hot flashes and sleeplessness are part of the show.Dose any one know, is foot pain and stiffness in the mornings or after sitting for long periods of time also part of it?
