SCAR Tissue

I had a partial mastectomy Nov. 2001. I go 2x yearly to both my surgeon and radiation therapist, and go yearly for a mammo. Lately I have noticed that part of my scar from surgery (where I believe the initial incision was made) is shiney and about the size of a half dollar and has a slightly pinkish rim around it as opposed to the rest of the scar which is a straight shiney line from right to left. Is this normal? I will call my surgeon in the morning, but just thought I'd ask someone out there. If you know, please email me at ddklgray@westpa.net. Thanks.
