Feeling Alive
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I was initially confused because us Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving in October, so I thought maybe you were all suffering from chemo brain or that I was losing it but then I remembered the American Thanksgiving! He, he, I'm so lost sometimes! Anyways, I hope you all had a great holiday. I just wanted to share some things that make me happy because I'm in a fabulous mood and it's one of those days that I'm ecstatic to be alive... You all have to see the movie "Love Actually" with Hugh Grant. It's about love (I guess the title gives it away) and you leave the theater about to burst with a warm, tingly feeling inside (finally, tingling that is not the result of the oxaliplatin!) - it's like your heart is singing and your body is just filled to the brim with love. Go to a nice restaurant with good company. Having a full tummy on food I adore and good conversation always satisfies me.
Be nice to the people around you. Buy them a little gift for no reason or compliment them on something - happiness is contagious. Get a haircut, nails done, or buy a new piece of clothing - when you look good, you tend to feel better. Get a massage or cuddle with a significant other. Everyone needs to be touched/hugged/loved. Who ever thought that such simple little things could still make you feel great despite facing cancer and daily uncertainty? It's a mystery to me. Nonetheless, I'm just feeling so fabulous that I wanted to share it with all of you. I hope everyone is having a good time because life is beautiful (even with cancer). Maybe if we have gather up all the happy moments and hold them in our hearts, the courage to face harder times will evolve.

Colin Firth was great in P&P as the snooty Mr. Darcy. He also appears in Bridget Jones' Diary. His role is a sad-eyed sendup of Darcy. The author had a crush on him and he gamely agreed to appear in the movie version.aleftina said:I will go to see the movie tomorrow. I hear Colin First is in it too, I love jim, did you see him in Pride and Prejudice?

I saw him in Bridget Jones' diary as well. I am looking forward to seeing him in the Love Actually. Did anyone see him on the View couple of weeks ago. I was in the hospital, the TV was on, my mounth dropped when I heard the announcement, Colin Firth, he was so funny and charming. But he looks better in the movies, the make up, I guess. I still love him. I dream to become an actress and start in the movie with him. :DDDaspaysia said:Colin Firth was great in P&P as the snooty Mr. Darcy. He also appears in Bridget Jones' Diary. Oh PU-LEEZ! All this chatter about what a cutie Colin Firth is is making me CRAZY! Never mind the men in the movie - are there any hotties? Are Angelina Jolie, Kirstin Dunst, Reese Whitherspoon, Kate Hudson or Farrah Fawcett in it? I mean, if I'm going to take my girl to a "chick flick" I need to enjoy it, too!0

Bob, the movie is about love, there are Hue Grant and Colin Firth in it, it is logial to assume they fall in love with some women and not with themselves. Do you think they would give them ugly women to fall in love in the movie? If they could fall in love with these women, so can you! :DDDspongebob said:Oh PU-LEEZ! Ida know... I'm thinking if you put a mirror in a conspicuous place, either Hugh or Colin would fall in love with their own reflection, a-la Narcissus....aleftina said:Bob, the movie is about love, there are Hue Grant and Colin Firth in it, it is logial to assume they fall in love with some women and not with themselves. I saw the movie, I don't think you will like it. The men were yawning. I did too couple of times, and had to close my eyes few times for the pornographic scenes. I loved Colin Firth's story, the old singer Billy and the kid in love. The rest was weired or vulgar. Sorry, Andreae!spongebob said:Ida know... Weird and vulgar! Well, maybe a little - what can I say... I guess I enjoy weird and vulgar. But I didn't really interpret the movie like that - there were simply some unconventional love stories. When that guy went to the girl's place with the stereo and bill boards just to say that he's in love or when the office chic FINALLY got the kiss from her fantasy man but then ditched him to take care of her sick brother or when the wife seemingly forgave her husband for his transgressions in the airport scene or when the guy traveled halfway around the world and learned a completely new language to propose to a girl he barely knew... That's what I think real life love is about. The perfect Romeo and Juliet love stories/Julia Robert's movies get to me because love is never so blessedly simple. I wish it was, but love is usually twisted, strange, unexpected and interfered with by life's obstacles and "baggage" and history. I guess I just liked the movie because not all the stories had a fairytale beginning and end. The creators left some room for all sorts of love. Oh, and on a less philosophical note, I guess I also enjoyed the movie because it appealed to my sense of humour and there was a love story about porn actors... I guess I appreciate a movie that manages to convey an innocent crush between two porn actors.0
