Metastatic/Recurrence
Looks like I am now going from Stage 1 to Stage IV. Would like to contact anyone who has been through similar diagnosis. Thanks.

Diagnosed 6/00 had a lumpectomy was a Stage 2 then in 8/01 had a bone met to arm, soooo...... Stage 4 for 2+ years now. It's still treatable and beatable. Just don't let it scare you. I'm having trouble with my email, but you can leave me a note as to a time and I'll be glad to chat with you. Also, you can find me at www.urcctc.com Just leave a note on the message board.obliva said:I was a stage 1 in 1997, right breast. 1998 stage 1, left breast, this year stage 3 left breast. Had a double mastectomy in April. Biggest shock was discovering that all those mammograms never caught it.

I am so sorry for what you are going through. It is also so scarey. I am stage IIb with 6 pos nodes and that is my worst fear. My tumor was aggressive but I try to put it in the back of my mind. It is really all we can do, is try to move on. But my prayers are with you, good luck. Keep us posted. God bless. Sharon0

Follow-up to my first msg. I am new to this site,so just figuring out how to use it. Thanks to all for your kind replies. I originally had lumpectomy (Jan. 2001), radiation, & chemo. Was stage 1, grade 3, node neg., ER/PR neg., HER2 neg. Am now Stage 4; had surgery last week with 11 positive axillary nodes removed. Scans show nodules on lungs. Since I am ER/PR neg., have not been able to take tamoxifen or any hormone treatments. Right now am in process of getting second opinion, but looks like my only option is weekly Taxol. Thanks again to all for your thoughts & prayers. Trying to keep the faith!
