Zometa - delayed side effects(?)
First infusion caused a lot of pain for three days after - Fri, Sat, and Sun and then got better than before the infusion.
Second treatment was Thursday - some extra pain Friday and then an EASY Saturday and Sunday to my delight - but Monday was worse and Tuesday - woweee! - and today appears to be a repeat of yesterday.
Would appreciate your input if you get this treatment - I suppose everythihg can vary from one to the next treatment - of course, I am worried about progression instead of improvement maybe.
Sending good wishes to all of you on this forum - and thanks.
Jean

You're on it once a month right jean? Double check doc's dosage, make sure your not getting too much.
Did he start you on herceptin yet?
I think I told you, I hurt usually a couple of days after treatment and then about 2 weeks after treatment, but not severely. I attribute it to bone being rebuilt as I hurt at site of metastasis. You might want to ask for some pain meds, no need to suffer girl. Hope this helps. God bless. (((HUGS))) hummer0 -
I guess it's just the zometa - sounds similar to yours but just seemed to take longer to hurt after only my 2nd infusion. 4 mg. is the limit - they always show me the dosage - match my name with it etc. and set it for 16 minutes.hummingbyrd said:You're on it once a month right jean? Herceptin will follow if Femara is not showing it is working - bone scan and CT scan repeats in December.
I have pain meds - oxycodone and Darvocet - my choice to take - usually Darvocet - but i do not take the maximum dose ever - well, not yet!0
