melanoma symptoms

my father has melanoma.He just finished one month of interfuron interveniously.Now has started his home injections of 20 mill.He has become very restless and cant sleep and feels like his brain is racing.It is really frustrating for him.Has anyone else had this problem.HELP we need some advice on what we can do.would greatly appreciate an email from someone.Thanks

    Many people develop the same problems while on chemotherapy. Be sure to speak with Dad's oncologist to be certain the doctor knows of this and to obtain the doctor's feedback.

    arggggg just finished my year of interferon last January, but my dose was 30 mill 3x a week. I was told by 3 doctors before I started it that it wasn't technically chemotherapy, but was as rough as any chemotherapy out there, and it is. I ate very little, drank more water than a guppy and was still dehydrated, and lost 100#. While his symptoms are different than mine, try to let him know that they probably won't last. He's lucky they aren't making him deathly sick. Have him stick with it, because it's the best they have for Melanoma, sad as it seems. You can email me at sher82051@go.com if you would like to talk.     i am on the same interferon treatment and i have the same sympotns go to the dr and maybe a shrink for some antidepressrents i take wellburtin and it help me relax. good health

    thanks for your reply.My father is doing much better now.He is on clorasapan.It has helped him tremendously.My mother is on this discussion board as well.She goes by Sleepless on here.If you have any questions or just want to talk,just give us an email or I am in the chat room quite often.I am also a survivor of ovarian cancer 1 year free.Well hope all is well for you and take care.Stay srong.Thanks again.
