In the 2 years that I have taken Tamoxifen I have been warmer than normal. I'm anxious to see what the other ladies have to say about the side effect. Judy0

yes!! I have been on it since mid-March and I am freezing most of the time. I don't like it, but it's better than the hot sweats. I did not have this before I started taking the tamoxifen, and although it's not listed as a side effect, my dr. said it is likely from that. I always got cold right before I was going to start my period, so I know hormones can do that.0

I've been taking Tamoxifen since the end of Sept. 2001. I think that I was feeling better after chemo and during radiation - then tamoxifen began and I think I've never felt what I call 'good'. I get hot flashes sometimes - mostly in the evening while I'm trying to read or watch TV, but otherwise if I'm not cleaning etc. I feel cooler than I should according to the temperature. I think that is why I could stand France last summer without air conditioning.
Sometimes Tamoxifen causes hair thinning in just a small percentage of people. I think I have that and it annoys me more than the cool/hot condition.
I think we all hate to complain about these little things which daily wears me down at least and probably many other women. But in the long run, we all say it beats cancer returning.
Hoping you will feel better or more comfortable soon.

I stopped taking Tamoxifen 2 years ago. I took it for 6 years with little side effects, cramps in my hands and legs, hot and cold flashes. Those I did have could be from age..... I am now 52 and an eight year survivor. After going through a bone marrow transplant everything else doesn't seem that bad. But then everyone has different degrees of side affects and I hope you are feeling better by the time you get this message. God's speed. June0
