Well all of you wonderful helpers, I have completed 7/8 ths of my treatment. Last one scheduled for 7/17/03. I really can't wait. The taxotere has taken it's toll but the upside is some hair recovery and knowing the end is in sight. Following the last treatment will be the removal of the port and the rest of the reconstruction. I want to thank everyone for your words of wisdom and kindness and understanding. I don't know that I could have made it without you. Hugs and kisses to all!

Tara, Congratulations on being so close to the end of chemo!! Yahoo! I finished my last Taxotere on the 13th and I cannot tell you how elated I was when I walked out of there! I should find out on the 9th when the port comes out and when I get my implant so I can relate to how you feel. Good luck on your last Taxotere, even with the aches and pains, just keep telling yourself, "this is the last one!" that's what I did and I swear it made me feel better! Hugs, Julene0

Woo Hoo! You did it, you did it! The day you thought would never come is just around the corner!
I had my last taxotere on May 22nd and my port out about 2 weeks later. And I'm happy to announce that your taste does return! Somethings still taste "funny" but funny is better than cardboard!
If you are at all worried about the surgery to remove your port....don't be! I had mine taken out under local/IV sedation. My surgery was at 9:00 and I was eating brunch with my mom by 11:00. Piece of cake but don't tell anyone in your family so you can get some rest!
Blessings,
Karen0
