Hi, I am a 42 year old Australian living in the US. I am newly diagnosed NSCLC stage 3b lifetime non-smoker and have just started my first course of chemotherapy. I have chosen CCDRT directed chemo consisting of high dose Tamoxifen, Gemzar, Carboplatin, Navelbine and Iressa. I am interested in communicating with others in a similar situation.
Best Regards

Hello Mark, My name is Jackie I am 35 and have been fight stage 3b for the past year and couple months. I did smoke but not enough to get this cancer at this stage this earily in life so the docs say, have you been exposed to chemicals or asbestose? I had carbo and taxol, radiation and more carbo and taxol last year, went to remission for 5 months and now I am on gemzar, only have had three treatments so far, but doing ok so far. Make sure you keep eating and keep your strength, the chemo will make you tired and some what upset. They say with stage 3b you cannot cure but can live with it for some time, this is what they call palliative treatment. Get involved, do your research ask any question you have, be proactive. Best of luck...Jackie0

Hi Mark;
So sorry for your dx. and that you have to be here. I was dx.ed stage IIB and had my left lung removed. That was over 2 years ago. I was not given any Chemo or radiation so can't help you there. If ya get a chance stop by and see us at lungcancersurvivors.org, about 450 of us, many with your stage of disease. God bless and be well
